I have discovered another wonderful self tanner! It’s the haute couture of self tanners! Clarins Delectable Self Tanning Mousse is a luscious 3-in-1 product that is a self tanner, moisturizer, and sunblock all rolled into one. The whipped cream like texture melted into my skin, giving it a gradual and natural-looking golden tan. Besides being scented with peach and almond, it has mirabelle oil which makes your skin feel like satin for days, and the safflower extract encourages melanin production for a natural-looking tan.

After applying it, about 4 hours later I noticed I had a subtle warm glow. By day 2 my skin was a beautiful warm bronze color. My tan lasted strong about 4 days. By day 7 it was time to re-apply. Also, you can use it on your face as well! It’s non-comedogenic and dermatologist tested. I think you’re gonna love it!

To apply:

Exfoliate skin, and shave the night before. Rub the cream gently between the fingertips and apply evenly over the face and body. I recommend starting from the feet and working up because bending over can cause streaking. Avoid eyebrows and hairline. Wash hands thoroughly after application. Wait about 30 minutes before getting dressed.

Summer is here and it’s finally time to embrace a tan – YAY! However, think twice before you jump under the sun without at least a 30 SPF, or before heading towards the tanning salon. Around 90% of the visible changes commonly related to aging are caused by the sun. Skin cancer is currently the most common of all cancers in the United States with over one million cases diagnosed every year, more than the total of cancers of the breast, prostate, lung and colon. About 90% of non-melanoma skin cancers are associated with exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun. So respect your body and fake a tan.

There are some great self tanners out there, so don’t worry about turning dirty orange. My favorite right now is DuWop Clear Revolution Shimmering Self Tanner. They have been bringing us beauty products with a twist for over 12 years. This cooling ice-blue colored gel contains extracts of arnica and calendula to not only give you an enviously glowing tan but also firm and tone your skin as you go. Who doesn’t love that! It’s scented with a tempting blend of essential oils, which leaves you smelling sweet and not milky. This product is everything you need to be beach-ready!

Self Tanning Tips

Shave your legs the day before you self tan. It will exfoliate the top layer of skin, leaving a healthy new layer ready to tan.
Exfoliate with a soft cotton washcloth before applying a self tanning lotion, as rougher nylon and loofah scrubbers can cause streaks.
Put a little moisturizer on your knees, elbows, ankles, and the tops of your feet in order to prevent dark spots.
To prevent staining of your palms, fingers, and fingernails, put some moisturizer on them first. When finished, wash hands really well making sure to get the nail-beds and in between your fingers.
If you’re using self tanner on your legs, don’t forget to include your ankles and the tops of your feet.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15

I have yet to find a primer that I love until now. I am excited to introduce to you the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer! It is amazing! The primer has a wonderful silky smooth texture, and feels like I have nothing on my skin. It’s concentrated enough that 1-2 pumps is enough for full coverage of my face. The light reflectors and moisturizers in the primer made my skin look more luminous and smooth. It’s a little more expensive than all the others, but beyond worth it. The staying power it gives my foundation, and even just powder alone is well worth every penny!! ALL of my makeup stayed not only my foundation, but eye shadow, liner, blush, etc. Can’t rave about this product enough!

I am always on the hunt for a beautiful, long wearing foundation that wont break me out or make my skin feel smothered! The Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation and Oil-Free Foundation is AMAZING! They both have vitamins A, C and E in them protecting the skin from harmful elements in our environment. The Moisturizing Foundation is not greasy at all! It’s hydrating, and softens fine lines and dry spots. Works great with all skin types, but if you have oily skin I’d go with the Oil-Free Foundation. I have tried both ’cause I am a combo of every skin type. I prefer the Moisturizing Foundation due to the fact that I have a few dry areas, and it doesn’t break me out. A word to the wise; it is long wearing so wash your face because after a while it will clog your pores : ) Other than that I highly recommend the Laura Mercier foundation.
